This group, formed in Oakland in 1988, was composed of rappers Richie Rich and D-Loc, alongside producers DJ Daryl and J.E.D.. The group’s name, 415, was a nod to the telephone area code that originally served both San Francisco and Oakland, symbolizing their deep roots in the Bay Area’s urban landscape.
415 emerged as a prominent force in the rap scene, known for their authentic portrayal of street life and the urban experience. However, the group faced a setback when Richie Rich was incarcerated, leading to his absence from their second album.
